Finding Your Purpose: Aligning Action With God’s Plan

Hi Readers, welcome back to Week Ten of Be Brazen w/ Tae.

If last week was about moving with intention, this week is about finding the heartbeat behind your action, your purpose. It’s about understanding why you do what you do and letting that “why” guide your life. Even the boldest actions can feel heavy if they aren’t aligned with God’s plan.

Scripture to Ponder:
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.” — Jeremiah 29:11

God has a plan for you, but discovering it often requires slowing down, listening, and trusting Him to guide your steps.

My Purpose Revealed

Over time, I began to notice a pattern in my life. People around me would come to me to talk about their relationships or difficult decisions. They trusted me to help them think through their options and outcomes, even when I barely knew them. I realized that I have a natural ability to see the full picture and generate multiple solutions for someone who is feeling stuck.

I also noticed that I create a soft, safe space for people to share things they might not feel comfortable sharing with anyone else. One of my clients even said that I am skilled at active listening and creating a safe space for sharing and goal-setting. Hearing that confirmed something I had been feeling in my heart.

In February of last year, I had a true “aha” moment. I realized that my purpose is to become a life and relationship coach. I am called to do this work. Helping people navigate their relationships, make brave decisions, and see the possibilities in their lives is my calling. That realization didn’t just feel like a career choice, it felt like the mission God put on my heart.

Scripture Reminder:
“Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.” — 1 Peter 4:10

Recognizing your purpose is transformative. When your work aligns with your calling, your actions carry more weight, your energy feels fuller, and your impact is greater. For me, this realization changed how I approach my business, my relationships, and my daily life.

Narrowing In

Finding your purpose often means taking a hard look at what you are doing and letting go of what doesn’t serve you. For me, that meant saying “no” to opportunities that didn’t align with my vision and cutting out habits that drained me. It was uncomfortable, but necessary.

Scripture Reminder:
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come. The old has gone, the new is here!” — 2 Corinthians 5:17

Letting go made room for what truly matters. Purpose is not about doing more, it is about doing what aligns with God’s plan for you.

Taking Purposeful Steps

Once you have clarity, the next step is action. This is where faith and courage come in. Your purpose will stretch you, challenge you, and sometimes scare you, but God equips you for every step.

For me, stepping into purpose meant bold, intentional actions: applying for grants that intimidated me, reaching out to mentors I admired, and prioritizing my spiritual and personal growth alongside my business. Every step was guided by prayer and trust, even when I didn’t have all the answers.

Scripture Reminder:
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” — Proverbs 3:5-6

Journal Prompts for Week 10

  1. What do I feel called to do that I haven’t acted on yet?
  2. Which of my daily actions reflect my God-given gifts and passions?
  3. What can I release this week to make more room for my purpose?
  4. What is one brave, purposeful step I can take in the next 7 days?
  5. How can I lean on God and others as I pursue this calling?

Final Thoughts

Your purpose isn’t a distant dream. It is woven into your everyday life. When your actions reflect your faith, your gifts, and your heart, even small steps feel meaningful.

Take a moment today to ask yourself: Am I moving with purpose, or just moving?

Discovering your purpose is about alignment, faith, and showing up fully. Trust God, take bold steps, and move confidently toward the life you were created to live.
